Careers

Are you thinking about a career in the logistics industry?

Consider BCD Logistics Ltd for your next step.

BCD offers a variety of career avenues for drivers and office staff alike.

We are always looking for the best ways to invest in the future. For us, this includes implementing a progressive recruitment strategy to bring in the next generation of staff who can represent BCD to the highest standard, both on and off the road.

Fancy a switch to the driver’s seat?

At BCD, we pay a premium on insurance which not only allows new C+E passes to start their career as a driver, but also gives young people a pathway into our industry.

BCD is looking to pave way for the next generation of drivers in the logistics industry. To achieve this aim, we have opened our doors to drivers who are fresh from passing their HGV driving courses.

Rather than expecting 12/24 months’ worth of driving experience before being considered for a driving role, we look forward to providing our own training, as you get first hand training working with a few of our experienced driver trainers and existing driving staff.

After a couple of weeks getting to grips with the ins and outs of container haulage, we’ll put you in a truck of your own and get your class 1 driving career fully up and running.

Want to learn how we operate behind the scenes?

We’ll provide on the job training while you work for any one of our first class office teams. We offer both full time job roles and apprenticeship schemes.

There are numerous career paths to start your journey on at BCD Logistics.
Each of our branches has its own highly experienced traffic planning team, who are largely responsible for managing and distributing work among our driving staff and dealing with any day-to-day issues that may arise.
Every productive office requires a high-quality admin team. At BCD administration duties often revolve around, dealing with customer relations, sourcing and rating work for the company, as well as thorough database management.
At our head office in Manchester, we have a dedicated fleet management team which oversees company compliance across the board, ensuring all our staff, trucks and trailers remain safe and follow all the up-to-date regulations in the road haulage industry.
Despite this, job responsibilities at BCD often vary significantly depending on the ever-changing demands of the industry. Everyone has a unique, yet equally important, role to play in the company’s success.
We’re always on the lookout for candidates who align with the company’s goals. At present, we have placed a strong emphasis on investing in the future.
Exploring the use of apprenticeship schemes are one of the ways in which we intend to work towards this future-focused goal.

We work very closely with The Growth Company, who are renowned for providing young people and adults alike with experiences in a wide range of work environments.

Over the years, BCD has been proud to encourage candidates to try their hand in the logistics industry.
Currently, we have two apprentices in different departments, learning all aspects of their administrative roles for a Level 3 Business / Admin qualification.
BCD recognises that apprenticeship schemes can shape both the individuals in training, as well as the logistics industry as a whole. If apprentices are given the proper training and support in their desired field, they will certainly increase standards in the workplace when fully qualified.
This can have a substantial knock-on effect on how well businesses operate, as people who complete their apprenticeship courses are integrated into their companies and move up the ranks into roles of higher importance.

We are not the only ones who understand the potential benefits of high-end training.
BCD is a certified member of Logistics UK, and we currently have a member of staff at our head office who is taking their Transport Manager CPC training course.
Logistics UK looks to support, advise and educate to benefit the wider logistics industry. Learn more at – Transport and Logistics Training Courses | Logistics UK
